He litigates a wide variety of IP cases in Vietnamese courts, namely presenting a Vietnamese company against a US-based company in patent infringement claim at Hanoi-based court that claimed the highest-ever record damages of nearly USD5 million USD; acting as a barrister in favour of a defendant against the plaintiff’s copyright infringement accusation claiming record damage of nearly USD2 million at a Ho Chi Minh City-based court where he made counter-action claiming the same damages. Vinh was involved in counselling the victim to claim damages in section 226 criminal case regarding manufacturing and trading in counterfeit trademark goods where Vietnam, for the first time, prosecuted criminal liability for the corporation. He is experienced in dealing with trademark infringement, including 3D trademark via administrative and civil remedies. His experience is also involved in cancelling the validity of patents for utility solutions before the VNIPO. He also represented victoriously in a UDRP domain name dispute before the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center. Vinh advises and represents foreign technology companies to prepare Vietnamese translations of a great deal of PCT applications and submit them with the VNIPO. He spoke at the roundtable of the Supreme People’s Court on copyright legislation and enforcement before more than 100 justices and judges of the Supreme People’s Court, High People’s Courts and Provincial People’s Courts. In August 2021, he spoke at a webinar held by the National Assembly’s Legal Committee about the fifth revision draft of the IP Law.
