The Seventh Annual International Summit of the Indian Corporate Counsel Association’s (ICCA) was held in the Hotel Leela Palace in New Delhi in October and was attended by commerce secretary Rita Teotia, law secretary Suresh Chandra and, Department of Commerce joint secretary Sudhanshu Pandey.

Indian legal luminaries were joined by legal professionals from as far afield as the UK, France, Singapore, South Africa, Canada, Africa, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates.
The event was held over two days and included an opening session discussing “Transforming India – opportunities and challenges for the legal profession”. Other sessions included: Role of a general counsel; Anti-corruption – how to conceptualize and implement successful compliance programmes; Multijurisdictional operations – need for care; Standard setting organizations and standard essential patents; Managing risks in M&A – perspective from India and overseas; and Arbitration and ADR – current trends in India.
