International law firm Skadden has announced the appointment of Audrey Sokoloff to co-head the firm in the Asia-Pacific region. Sokoloff, who heads Skadden’s Asia-Pacific real estate and investment finance practice, will join Alan Schiffman as co-head of Skadden in the region. She will also retain her role as leader of the firm’s Tokyo office.
Schiffman, who has co-headed the firm in Asia-Pacific since 2004 and who leads the firm’s Asian energy and infrastructure projects practice, said: “Audrey’s appointment is a very positive development for our firm and our clients. Skadden has an extremely diverse practice in Asia-Pacific, both in terms of the locations and practices. Audrey and I have tremendous commitment to Asia, as well as extensive experience working together. I think we make a very strong team.

“This appointment is especially timely as Skadden heads into a very exciting period of development,” added Schiffman. “Recently, we have added five partners in the region and expanded our capabilities in mergers and acquisitions, capital markets, real estate and investment finance, energy and infrastructure projects, finance and international arbitration and litigation. We are well placed as markets recover and our clients seek to capitalize on opportunities or expand their operations and investments.”
