Rebecca Ordish, the senior trademark counsel for Cadbury in Asia and the Pacific, has resigned to start her own IP consultancy.

Rebecca Ordish Consulting will cater to both IP owners and law firms. Ordish is keen to “demystify” IP and intends to help her clients recognize the value of their intellectual assets, customize their IP strategies and overcome challenges such as dealing with copycat products in India. Ordish believes it is important for law firms to “speak” Asia Pacific IP and offers to help them do so through case studies and by facilitating IP “war games”.
While at Cadbury, Ordish’s challenges included protecting the company’s Dairy Milk brand in India. Prior to joining the chocolate company, she was Diageo’s IP Counsel for Greater China, where she devised protection strategies for brands such as Johnnie Walker, Baileys and Smirnoff. She has also worked with Baker & McKenzie, Rouse and confectionary company Mars.
