Mumbai-based law firm Juris Corp has welcomed back Veena Sivaramakrishnan, a lawyer who worked in the firm’s derivatives and money markets team from 2004 to 2006.

Sivaramakrishnan left Juris Corp to pursue opportunities as an in-house counsel with ICICI Bank. During her tenure at ICICI she worked for its branches and subsidiaries in the UK, Canada, the US and Singapore, gaining significant experience in treasury, private banking, investment banking, retail banking and corporate banking. While at ICICI Sivaramakrishnan also took on a secondment with international law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell at its New York office.

Sivaramakrishnan returned to Juris Corp on 1 July, primarily to assist the derivatives and money markets team. She is one of three senior associates to have returned to the firm over the last 15 months. Suruchi Dhavale returned to the firm in May, having previously worked there from 2001 until 2003 as part of the derivatives and money markets team. Another former associate, Vandana Sekhri, returned to the firm as a partner in June last year. She had previously worked in the firm’s structured finance team until leaving in February 2008 to gain exposure in other areas of law. Her core practice areas are now structured finance, private equity, joint ventures and securities law.
