Introduction

Kingsley Ong is a partner at CMS Hong Kong specialising in banking, structured finance, securitisation, derivatives, restructuring, insolvency, and arbitrations. He has structured many innovative award-winning financing transactions in the market and is also recognised as the “pre-eminent practitioner for unwinding complex structured products” (Legal 500), with “phenomenal client base among mainland China and the Cantonese community” (Chambers).

Ong is a notary public, Hong Kong solicitor, barrister/solicitor-advocate (England/Wales), advocate and solicitor (Singapore), FCIArb, FHKIArb. He also actively takes arbitrator appointments.

Ong has been APSA’s secretary-general since 2008.

Ong is also adjunct professor at the University of Hong Kong’s Law Faculty. His published opinions have been cited as legal authority in the US Court (LBSF vs BNY, 2010), the Hong Kong Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, the Financial Stability Board, and leading textbooks.
