AllBright Law Offices has won approval to open a branch office in Haikou as the Hainan provincial capital grows as a global financial centre.
The province is establishing a free trade port legal system based on the Hainan Free Trade Port Law, which is set to see increasing demand for legal services locally. According to China Business Law Journal data, Haikou has become the most popular city for law firms since the start of 2020 to August 2021, with 17 law firms setting up branches there.
AllBright now has 25 branches across China and the firm has an overseas presence with offices in London, Seattle and Singapore. It also has a joint operation with Hong Kong’s Stevenson Wong & Co, as well as strategic co-operation with international law firm Bird & Bird.
