Remfry & Sagar has opened an office in Mumbai in the upscale Nariman Point area, motivated by the increasing amount of litigation work carried out in the city.
“Many of our clients have their headquarters in Mumbai,” said Ashwin Julka, the managing partner of Remfry & Sagar. “Our litigation practice has been growing rapidly over the last decade, and with so many cases being filed before the Bombay High Court, opening an office there will make things simpler, from a logistical and procedural point of view.”
Julka added that a physical presence in the country’s commercial capital would help the firm to further expand its footprint, and hoped that the disruption caused by the pandemic would be temporary.
“Given the ongoing situation, it has been a bit of a slow start at the new branch,” said Julka. “We had tied the ends together for establishing a physical presence in Mumbai in the early part of 2021, and the current wave of covid-19 caught us by surprise.”
The firm has its main office in Gurugram, and offices in Bengaluru and Chennai.
