The Queen’s Bench Division of London High Court has ruled that it has jurisdiction to hear a compensation suit against Indian Hotels Company, the owner of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel in Mumbai, by two UK-based victims of the terrorist attacks that took place in the city on 26-28 November 2008. Indian Hotels Company, which is part of the Tata group, had argued that UK courts did not have jurisdiction to hear the case. However, the ruling, announced on 19 December, clears the way for a full hearing at a UK court.
