J Sagar Associates (JSA) advised Microsoft India and B Capital when they recently invested US$10 million each in Ver Se Innovation, which owns news aggregator Dailyhunt, in a US$100 million round of financing.
Other investors in the series H round were Google, Falcon Edge’s Alpha Wave Incubation, and existing investors Sofina Group and Lupa Systems. Rajaram Legal advised Ver Se Innovation. The deal was signed on 17 December and closed on 24 December 2020.
JSA’s team comprised partner Lalit Kumar and senior associate Amandeep Singh Virk (advisers to Microsoft); and partner Manvinder Singh and senior associates Anant Mishra and Divyam Sharma (advisers to B Capital).
Rajaram Legal’s team was led by managing partner Archana Rajaram. Ver Se Innovation also owns Josh, which is a short-video app.
