The international training of Chinese lawyers is to be revitalised through a programme backed by the Ministry of Justice and leading independent international firms that plan to train the lawyers in Europe and Latin America.
Uría Menéndez, an Iberian independent law firm with offices in Europe, America and Asia, has overhauled the programme designed in collaboration with the All-China Lawyers Association (ACLA) to train Chinese lawyers in cross-border work and management. The new training programme is based on a UK scheme, although it is noteworthy for being the only programme of its kind to be entrusted to a private entity by a Chinese governmental body. The programme is unique for simultaneously covering more than 10 jurisdictions in two continents, thus representing a further effort towards the globalisation of Chinese legal practice and firm management.
