Shearman & Sterling is expanding its global and China project finance capabilities with the addition of partner Sean Wang to its Shanghai office.

The firm said Wang would bring Chinese, US and global experience to the firm. “I have a Chinese background as well as a very strong training in the West, where altogether I spent nine years in New York in the project finance area,” Wang told China Business Law Journal.
He said China’s market offered plenty of opportunity. “There are a lot of companies going abroad investing in shares or assets, which creates opportunities for myself, because at this point I have more experience running transactions outside China than in China.”
