IP boutique Saikrishna & Associates recruited Ameet Datta to the partnership in July, from Luthra & Luthra.
Datta, an IP, media and entertainment specialist, moved to Luthra & Luthra in 2008 after practising IP law at Anand and Anand for almost four years. While at Luthra & Luthra, Datta focused on trademark, copyright and design work, prosecution, advisory and litigation; media and entertainment law; content licensing for films and music broadcasting; and enforcement and anti-piracy campaigns. At Saikrishna, he will handle both litigation and transactional work.
In addition, Datta will focus on policy reform and development. “We see a crying need for strong legal research-based advocacy groups assisting clients in many sectors as opposed to the general lobbying activity we see today,” he said.
