Paul Hastings’ corporate partner Kim Dong-chul will replace litigation partner Kim Jong-han as the Seoul office’s chair from 1 January 2021.
Kim Dong-chul joined the firm in 2012 in Seoul, has specialized in capital market transactions and represented prominent Korean companies and international investment banks including Samsung Electronics, Lotte Chemical, Hanwha Systems, Korea Investment Corp, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley.
“The technology sector is a key focus for us as we look to support large Korean businesses going global,” he told Asia Business Law Journal when discussing the firm’s priorities in the coming year. “We are continuing to scale up and support IPOs [initial public offerings] and capital market transactions, which are a key area of growth at the moment.”
