Majmudar & Co has appointed Abdul Rasheed as an associate partner in Bangalore and Ravishankar Raghavan as a principal in the tax group at its Mumbai office. Rasheed will handle corporate and M&A work, banking deals and commercial litigation. Raghavan will focus on fund formation, corporate tax advisory and tax litigation.
“Ravishankar augments the tax practice of the firm, and brings with him a wealth of experience from his time at the Big 4 accounting firms,” Akil Hirani, managing partner at Majmudar & Co, told India Business Law Journal. “Rasheed comes from ING Bank, and will boost our corporate and compliance practice.”
Rasheed was formerly the associate vice-president in the corporate legal and compliance department at ING in India. During his tenure there, he advised on matters involving Indian and US securities, securitization, foreign exchange, anti-money laundering, United Nations, US and European Union economic sanctions, export and import regulations, and competition law.
