China Britain Law Institute (CBLI) and the Confucius Institute for Business London have launched the Legal Partnership Initiative (LPI) to strengthen China-UK business and legal links.

“Fostering communication between Chinese and UK lawyers is important not only in the cultural sense, but also to promote ties between the professional groups in the two countries,” Matthew Townsend, the co-founder and director of the CBLI, told China Business Law Journal. “English law is a popular choice for businesses concluding their international contracts, so Chinese lawyers, especially those dealing with international transactions, can only benefit from an increased knowledge of English law.”
