A team of lawyers has clinched victory in a charity cricket match after defeating their banker rivals by 41 runs.
The teams battled under the sweltering sun at Parsee Gymkhana club in Mumbai on 9 April. The match came hot on the heels of India’s triumph in the cricket World Cup on April 2. It was fought out between bankers and lawyers who have worked on Indian capital markets deals.
Dorsey & Whitney sponsored the event and pledged to donate ₹3,500 for every wicket taken and ₹7,000 for each six scored during the tournament. Mumbai-based Crawford Bayley & Co offered to match the amount donated by Dorsey while individuals were welcomed to make their own donations.
