Ronin Legal specialises in providing legal and strategic advice to life sciences, healthcare, and technology investors and entrepreneurs.

The founder, Shantanu Mukherjee, is a New York and India qualified attorney, with an LLM from Columbia Law School, New York, and a BA, LLB (with a gold medal in intellectual property law) from the National Law School of India University. He has lived and worked in India, New York, Singapore, Hong Kong and Dubai, including with leading law firms such as Linklaters and White & Case.

Shantanu has particular expertise in life sciences and healthtech. He has advised on multiple cross-border transactions involving the licensing, distribution, manufacture or co-development of large and small molecule drugs. He also has significant global healthcare M&A experience, having closed acquisitions worth more than USD500 million in North America, divestments worth over USD600 million in Japan and China, and USD145 million in joint ventures globally.

Healthcare & Life sciences: Our life sciences expertise extends across the product life cycle, from drug development to commercialisation. We advise on M&A, co-development and licensing transactions, manufacturing, marketing and distribution agreements, and clinical development and clinical trials.

Healthtech: We’ve advised healthtech companies on market entry across jurisdictions, including in the US, UAE, Singapore and the UK. We’ve advised on a range of regulatory and legal issues related to medical device regulations, intellectual property and data privacy, including the collection, use, and storage of personal health data.

M&A: Our attorneys have closed acquisitions, divestments and joint ventures of all sizes, across continents. Our international experience and global relationships enable us to navigate cultural differences and achieve our clients’ business objectives efficiently, worldwide.

Corporate: We provide various corporate legal services, from cross-border entity incorporations to an “external general counsel service” that manages day-to-day legal affairs. We assist in-house legal teams with diligence or transaction support as needed, structure and implement global compliance programs, and assist with discrete projects, such as implementing contract management software.

Technology: We advise on legal issues at the intersection of technology, data and the law, including in the fields of healthtech, fintech and agritech. We help our clients move fast and not break things.
