K&L Gates advised software-as-a-service technology company Aigens on its RMB100 million (USD14 million) series A financing.
The K&L team was led by Hong Kong-based partner William Ho, who focuses on cross-border M&A deals, private equity and venture capital, privatisations and strategic investments.
Ant Group led the fundraising round, with Velocity Ventures, Phillip Private Equity and Prizm Ventures also participating.
Aigens, which launched in 2012, aims to promote digitalisation of the food and beverage industry. It introduced QR code ordering in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. The tech firm operates in 14 markets and serves high-profile corporations, including Jollibee Group, Burger King, Haidilao, Starbucks, Shake Shack and Pizza Hut.
