Jingtian & Gongcheng recently added six partners – Zhao Shuzhou, Shen Xiangman, Hu Jian, Zhang Kehua, Yang Bo and Zhou Kaiguo – to strengthen the firm’s service capability in maritime and international trade, and foreign-related commercial dispute resolution.
Guangzhou-based Zhao Shuzhou told China Business Law Journal that as Chinese companies go global, and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area (GBA) plans advance, maritime lawyers in China are realizing many business opportunities.

Joining from Wang Jing & Co, Zhao Shuzhou specializes in shipping and maritime, international trade, financial insurance and financial leasing, with experience in domestic and cross-border litigation and arbitration. Also specializing in the above fields, Shen Xiangman has more than 30 years of experience and is deputy director of the Legal Professional Committee of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Co-operation Promotion Association.
Hu has been assisting domestic clients in handling overseas investment projects since 2012. The projects he has handled involve Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia and other countries in the region. Focusing on foreign direct investment and M&A, Zhang’s clients are mainly large and medium-sized multinational companies from Europe and the US.
