Lalit Bhasin, the re-elected president of the Bar Association of India, said he would focus on looking into and rationalizing obsolete laws during his new term.

“Parliament, executive and judiciary must make efforts to bring [these laws] in tune with present day reality,” said Bhasin, whose term will end in 2020.
Representatives of states from all over India voted to re-elect Bhasin, who is the managing partner of Bhasin & Co and president of the Society of Indian Law Firms.
