Introduction

Ranajoy is the head of McDermott Will & Emery’s India practice. He regularly advises on complex structured finance transactions including external foreign currency convertible bonds and qualified institutional placements, debt capital markets transactions, energy and infrastructure financings, renewables, supply chain and trade receivables and convertible bonds relating to India. He has advised financial institutions and funds on some of the largest corporate debt defaults and restructuring in India. He has extensive experience in bond restructurings, consent solicitations, exchange offers, induced conversions and tender offers.

Ranajoy is recognized as a pioneer in impact investment and one of the world’s leading lawyers in cross-border ESG and social impact finance structures. Ranajoy has advised on some of the most innovative financial inclusion structures around the world, including the Educate Girls Social Impact Bond, which aims to improve the education of children in India, the Utkrisht Bond and the Quality Education India Bond more recently.
