Ravi Mittal has been appointed chairperson of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). Mittal was previously the secretary at the Ministry of Sports. His predecessor, MS Sahoo, retired after he completed his five-year term on 30 September 2021.
Mittal’s appointment was effective from 9 February. He has served as a board member across public sector financial conglomerates like the State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, and GIC Re, and he previously worked with ministries and departments such as the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.
