Hogan Lovells has appointed partner Gaston Fernandez to head the firm’s Vietnam offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City from October. He replaces partner Jeff Olson, who has left the firm to join Japanese multinational information technology NTT Data as vice president and M&A counsel in Dallas, Texas.

Fernandez will relocate from Miami, where he has been based for 10 years. Prior to that, he was based in the firm’s Beijing office for four years. His practice covers finance, corporate and commercial matters, particularly in emerging markets, with a focus on infrastructure and energy projects.

Lloyd Parker, regional managing partner of APAC at Hogan Lovells in Tokyo, said Vietnam remained a significant and growing market for the law firm’s international clients, and was a gateway to Asean international trade.
