The Delhi High Court issued an interim injunction against Yahoo Video in June to prevent it from streaming content from a music company.
Super Cassettes Industries Limited (SCIL), which operates under the name T-Series, had filed a suit against Yahoo for copyright infringement caused by unlicensed streaming of SCIL’s works on www.video.yahoo.com. T-Series holds the copyright and publishing rights of these music videos, which were found on Yahoo’s website earlier this year.
According to reports in Ars Technica, SCIL’s lawyer, Rahul Ajatshatru said that SCIL had sent a cease-and-desist request to Yahoo in February, but Yahoo did not comply. A second notice was sent to Yahoo in March.
