New Delhi-based law firm Gravitas Legal has begun its first phase of growth with an entry into the Mumbai market through a merger with Kay Legal & Associates.

Gravitas partner Tanuj Sud told India Business Law Journal that the firm would not shy away from seeking out another collaboration in the near future. “Expansion is part of the plan … within the next three years, we hope to open one more office and add another 10-15 lawyers to our team.”
Sud and Sujeet Das, former partners at Khaitan Sud & Partners, and Varij Sharma, a principal associate at the firm, together launched the New Delhi-based Gravitas Legal in 2016. The firm specializes in banking and finance, projects, real estate, general corporate advisory and more recently, litigation.The merged entity has a total of 21 lawyers.
