US firm Goodwin Procter has announced plans to open an office in Hong Kong in January, in a bid to strengthen its Asian presence.
The Hong Kong office is being launched by partners Yash Rana and Brian McDaniel. Rana, a partner in Goodwin Procter’s private equity group, has a broad-based transactional practice, with particular emphasis on M&A and private equity. Born in Mumbai, he leads Goodwin Procter’s India practice and has extensive experience representing clients in cross-border transactions relating to India.
McDaniel, a partner in Goodwin Procter’s private investment funds practice, will relocate to Hong Kong from Silicon Valley. McDaniel specializes in the formation and operation of private equity and venture capital funds investing in China, India and other Asian countries.
