Sunil Gadhia, the head of the India practice at international law firm Stephenson Harwood, has been named the new chairman of the Asian Business Association (ABA) in London. He takes over from former Numerica chief executive and serial entrepreneur Tony Sarin, who led the ABA for six years.
As chairman, Gadhia will represent and promote Asian businesses in London, oversee committee work and host events and receptions. His first official engagement was hosting British member of parliament Kenneth Clarke at the ABA’s annual dinner.
“There are phenomenal opportunities for Indian businesses in the UK market,” Gadhia told India Business Law Journal. “These opportunities are greatest where Indian businesses can take advantage of their significantly lower cost base and ‘export’ to India elements of the production or service process that currently take place in the UK.
