Khaitan & Co promoted four of its lawyers to the partnership last month. The new partners are Aakash Choubey, Zakir Merchant, Rajat Mukherjee and Bhavik Narsana, all of whom will work in the firm’s corporate commercial practices in Mumbai and New Delhi.

Choubey has spent seven years with the firm, having been handpicked by the Mumbai office straight from National Law University, Bhopal.
“I have been very fortunate to be part of this growth story and in the process have been able to work on many high-profile transactions, ranging from Inox’s acquisition of Fame Cinemas, Harley-Davidson’s India entry and iGATE’s acquisition of Patni Computers,” Choubey told India Business Law Journal.
