Samuel Mani Kallupurakal resigned as the head of legal at Indian IT company Infosys in June to start his own law firm. He is joined by Utham Chengappa, the former global head of commercial transactions at Infosys, and Neil Mathur, the former head of legal for Infosys BPO. The firm will be called Mani Chengappa and Mathur and will begin operations on 18 August.

Mani says the trio left Infosys to start the firm “because we felt that there is a need for lawyers with significant business and technology industry experience in India”.
Mani worked at Infosys for nine and a half years, serving as the head of the company’s legal department for the past five years. Prior to working at Infosys, he served as a legal adviser to Reliance Industries.
