Job Description
Our client is a newly incorporated Japanese NGO working towards clean energy transition in Japan, governed and led by established and respected directors from leading international financial and legal institutions. You will play a unique dual role, both as an engagement lead, collaborating with the other engagement leads, sharing your legal expertise and advising and strategizing on engagement with target organizations, and as an internal legal counsel.
Job Requirements
- You will be a Japan-qualified lawyer (bengoshi) with substantial (min 5 to 7 years) in corporate practice and advanced knowledge of the Companies Act of Japan and familiarity with the Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Act of Japan.
- Ideally you will also be familiar with the Financial Exchange Instrument Act of Japan.
- You have strong experience negotiating challenging commercial transactions or in controversial disputes with large Japanese corporations.
