Ding Shuo, formerly project manager in the legal department of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIXth Olympiad (BOCOG), has taken up a new position as head of the Policy and Regulation Division of the Red Cross Society of China.

Ding follows Wang Wei, the former vice-president of BOCOG and associate secretary general of the Beijing municipal government, who has also moved to the Red Cross Society of China to become its executive vice-president.
With China having handed over the Olympic torch to London, BOCOG has now been disbanded. Its assets and functions have been divided between two organizations, the Chinese Olympics Committee and the Beijing Olympic City Development Association, which is a new body under the auspices of the Beijing municipal government.
