Term loan for Embassy

Embassy Property Developments (EPDPL) obtained a term loan from Indiabulls Housing Finance for US$111 million against the primary security of movable and immovable assets of EPDPL and its group of companies. Simultaneously, this facility was tied in and cross-collateralized with structured finance obtained by Embassy.

Khaitan & Co acted as the borrower’s counsel. The firm was represented by partners Rajiv Khaitan and Udayarkar Rangarajan, principal associate Smita Jha and associate Anurag Singh. Embassy is privately held and involved in commercial real estate, residential, hospitality, industrial warehouse spaces, services, retail and education.

MEIL acquires Trevi division

Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL), through its foreign subsidiary MEIL Global Holdings BV, has acquired 100% of Trevi Group’s oil and gas division comprising Drillmec and Petreven (Italy) and Drillmec (US) on a debt-free basis for an overall purchase price of €116 million (US$124 million).

The team comprised co-managing partner Nusrat Hassan, partner Anand Srivastava, associate partner Yosham Vardhan, and associates Deepali Menghwani, Neil Lopez and Rahil Thakkar. The team assisted MEIL in drafting, finalization of the transaction documents and closing, along with co-ordinating with law firms in several jurisdictions.
