Ameet Datta

Intellectual property, media and entertainment specialist Ameet Datta has left the law firm of Anand and Anand, at which he had been a partner since April 2005. Joining him in the move are two senior associates from the Delhi-based IP firm, Mohit Lahoty and Himanshu Bagai, and associate Thomas George.

The four lawyers were to take up new roles at Luthra & Luthra, a general practice firm also based in New Delhi, in early November. Datta will join the new firm as a partner, focusing on IP and IP litigation, media and entertainment and transactional issues.

“Luthra & Luthra is one of India’s premier full-service law firms,” Datta told India Business Law Journal. “The firm represents some of India’s top companies ranging from the UB Group to DLF and also various international clients … With this track record it was not a tough decision at all.”
