Introduction

Jackie Liu Zhiqiang, senior partner at Tahota Law Firm since 2013, is a Doctor of Laws, a Post-Doctor of Finance, an associate professor, a Certified Public Accountant (non-practicing member) and a Certified Tax Agent (non-practicing member). He worked for Shanghai Municipal Finance Bureau, Shanghai Municipal Administration of State Taxation, Ernst & Young, Chongqing Municipal Foreign Economic and Trade Commission, and Southwest University for Political Science and Law. Among his key practice areas of expertise are securities/capital market, finance, investment and mergers and acquisitions, fiscal tax, bonds and dispute resolution. Liu’s clients include banks, securities companies, insurance companies, trust companies, fund managers and some other listed companies, state-owned enterprises and financial holding platforms. He has overseen major legal affairs involved in automobiles and parts, energy, intelligent manufacturing, technological innovation, capital management sectors. Based on his work experience, Liu specializes in combining laws with his tax, finance and accounting skills to design holistic plans from the perspective of fiscal tax law, and assisting clients to carry it out effectively. Also, he has long participated in the management of Chinese listed companies and large SOEs as non-executive director or supervisor, contributing to the level of management of those companies.
