Introduction

Judy Tan’s main practice areas include banking and finance (especially aviation finance and lease), securities and capital markets, investment and M&A, and legal affairs of business organisation. She has accumulated more than 20 years of rich experience.

Tan specialises in aviation asset finance and lease. She has participated in many transactions involving the purchase, sale, finance and lease in respect of aircraft, simulators, engines and aviation equipment. These transactions involve more than 1,000 aircraft (including Boeing, Airbus, business aircraft and helicopters) and simulators, engines and various types of aircraft equipment.

The transaction structures include pre-delivery payment (PDP) financing, operating lease, finance lease, aircraft portfolio sale, sale and leaseback, lease restructure, aircraft asset-backed securitisation, PRC tax bond zone transaction, Japanese operating lease with call option, French tax lease, ECA finance, etc.

Tan has been awarded as Top 15 Female Lawyers 2020 by Asian Law Business. She led her team to win the Air Finance Journal China Award Finance Deal of the Year 2018, and International Partnership Award, China Air Finance Wan Hoo Award 2019.
