Introduction
Zhang Jian is a partner of Shihui Partners, and is specialised in legal services related to capital market, restructuring, mergers & acquisitions, and PE/VC. He has extensive experience in industries such as telecom, media, high-tech, healthcare, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), logistics, finance, insurance, environment, real estate, shipping, energy, mining, manufacturing, etc.
Zhang has advised various state-owned companies, large-scale private companies and emerging growth companies, and maintains close co-operation with leading investment banks and institutional investors. He has expertise in designing complex deal structures, and has provided legal services on many influential deals including: COSCO Shipping’s acquisition of Orient Overseas (International); the A+H-share rights issuance of RMB33.8 billion of China Merchants Bank; the spin-off and listing of Hutchison Whampoa’s real estate business; the merger of China CNR Corporation and China CSR Corporation; Master Kang’s acquisition of Pepsi Bottlers, etc.
These deals have been awarded by ALB, China Business Law Journal and other renowned legal rating agencies multiple times. In 2020, Zhang advised the secondary listing of JD.com in Hong Kong, which was one of the largest IPOs in the global capital market for the year.
Zhang graduated with LLM degrees from the Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the University of California, Berkeley. Before moving to Shihui Partners, Zhang was a partner of Commerce & Finance Law Offices.
