Xu Jie Chief Compliance Office & Legal Director Shanghai Junzheng Logistics |
Since acting as Chief Compliance Officer of Junzheng Logistics Co Ltd in 2020, Xu Jie has been leading the legal team to gradually establish a top-down comprehensive compliance system for Junzheng Group and Junzheng Logistics, covering corporate governance, international trade and sanctions compliance, anti-corruption and unfair competition, and has been continuing to promote the effective implementation of the compliance system within business management. From 2020 to 2021, the international business compliance system especially for Junzheng Logistics has been effectively implemented in more than 100 subsidiaries in dozens of countries, and in multiple business segments, e.g. the global liquid chemical fleet, and tank fleet. It has become an example and best practice in the industry. Faced with the unexpected crisis in 2020, when the US State Department issued sanctions lists for two subsidiaries of Junzheng Logistics Co Ltd, Xu and her team co-ordinated internal and external resources, and adequately used legal measures of compliance to appeal to the US. After continuous effort, the subsidiaries successfully obtained sanctions relief in 2021, at a very low legal cost and without any conditions. As the first Chinese company to apply for full and unconditional removal of the SDN List through legal compliance measures, Junzheng Logistics became a successful model recommended by the authorities to deal with trade friction. |
