Carey Olsen has a global network of nine offices, including Singapore and Hong Kong. We are a leading offshore law firm with more than 250 lawyers, and provide Bermuda, British Virgin Islands (BVI), Cayman Islands, Guernsey and Jersey legal advice. Our clients in Asia have direct access to our specialist lawyers in their own time zone, and in the context of their own commercial environment. We also have offices in London and Cape Town.

We have strong fund practices in the Caribbean and Asia, and are the market leader for funds advice across the Channel Islands. As a firm, we advise all 10 of the world’s top banks and all 10 of the world’s top private equity firms, and we also act for clients listed on a range of international stock exchanges – including the HKEx, SGX, SSE and TISE.

Clients turn to us for advice on the most challenging cross-border assignments, and in recent years we have been involved in the launch of the world’s largest investment fund, for SoftBank Group Corporation, and a series of landmark acquisitions of real estate assets by Asian investors.

Singapore

As a leading financial services centre and an established hub for many international firms, Singapore represents a gateway to Asia for Carey Olsen and our banking and finance, corporate and commercial, investment funds and trust offerings. We have a proven track record of providing offshore advice to international law firms and clients in the region on an extensive range of matters and transactions.

The Singapore office is headed up by managing partner Anthony McKenzie, who is an experienced Cayman practitioner and specialises in corporate, finance and investment fund matters. Fellow Singapore partner James Noble leads Carey Olsen’s litigation, insolvency and restructuring practice in Asia and advises on BVI and Cayman Islands law.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong’s reputation as a first class business centre has seen exponential growth for offshore financial and legal services in recent years. Our Hong Kong office is headed up by corporate partner Michael Padarin, a specialist in corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and investment fund matters, with a particular focus on private equity and venture capital funds. Fellow corporate partner James Webb specialises in Cayman Islands and BVI law and advises on a wide range of corporate and finance transactions.

Partner Jeremy Lightfoot leads our Hong Kong dispute resolution and litigation practice and advises on high value and complex commercial and corporate litigation, insolvency and restructuring matters under the laws of the BVI and the Cayman Islands.
