Bob Charlton, a partner at DLA Piper and a former head of its international finance and projects group, became the managing director of the firm’s Asia Pacific practice on 1 May.

Charlton is a respected finance and projects lawyer with extensive experience in the infrastructure, transactional and banking fields. He will work with the firm’s senior partners in the region to drive DLA Piper’s Asia Pacific strategy.
Charlton takes over from Alastair Da Costa, who held the post for five years. Da Costa is returning to the UK where he will pursue a master’s degree at London School of Economics, while remaining at the firm as a consultant.
