On 25 May, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) imposed fines of ₹100,000 (US$2,200) each on 27 film producers charged with colluding through a cartel to exploit cinema owners. This is the first order by the CCI where a penalty has been imposed for the abuse of dominant position.
