Baker & McKenzie’s corporate team recently advised eBay, the world’s leading online marketplace, on what they believe may be a unique strategic collaboration agreement with Xiu.com, a leading Chinese online fashion and luxury retailer – at least until the idea catches on.

The agreement relates to the development of a co-branded retail service website in China, called eBay Style, that brings a localised online shopping experience to Chinese consumers, particularly in fashion.
eBay Style (ebay.xiu.com), which was launched on 12 November in Shenzhen, will connect Chinese online consumers to global products offered on eBay’s websites. Through this arrangement, Chinese consumers can access eBay’s global selection, with Xiu.com being responsible for handling all sales, logistics and customer service.
