“My decision to move was driven by my personal career aspirations of growth and being associated with a larger and core forensic practice. This required a bigger canvas of a firm like KPMG, which is also the pioneer of forensic investigations in India.”
Upadhyay said his objective at AZB was to set up the compliance and investigation practice, which was focused on white collar crime defence. His role at KPMG will be similar, which is that of a financial crime investigator and forensic expert. Upadhyay will continue to work with law firms and general counsel (GCs) and assist them in internal investigations, regulatory investigations, compliance matters and dispute and litigation support.
