Introduction
Alfredo B Molo III is a founding partner of Mosveldtt. He specializes in commercial litigation, arbitration, public utilities, competition, public interest litigation and regulatory/ legislative reform. He has had significant Philippine Supreme Court victories in the fields of commercial, regulatory and intellectual property law.
These include nullifying legislative pork barrel (PDAF); establishing landmark doctrine in international trademark protection; nullifying restrictive regulations on foreign contractors; successfully enforcing a US$25 million arbitral award against a conglomerate, and arbitration before an international tribunal on a matter involving approximately US$1.6 billion.
He has been involved in some of the most challenging legislative reform projects in the Philippines and has served as a technical consultant for Senators, Congressmen regulators, economic zones, and other government interests. In 2013, the Philippine Supreme Court commended him for “expertise, competence and invaluable service” and, was chosen as a Member of the High Court’s Expert Panel on the Revised Rules of Civil Procedure.
He is currently involved in the legal effort to protect an internationally-awarded journalist (Time 100 List) and Rule of Law matters, including acting as counsel for retired Supreme Court Justices Antonio Carpio and Conchita Carpio Morales in a case challenging the Constitutionality of a new Anti-Terrorism Law before the Philippine Supreme Court.
