Introduction

James Cheng is a partner at Tsar & Tsai Law Firm with over 27 years of extensive experience in the area of corporate, M&A, cross-border transactions, insurance and BOT project. James has represented international or domestic bidders, targets and controlling shareholders in a wide spectrum of public and private transactions, including negotiated and contested acquisitions, financing and divestment in Taiwan, the PRC, Japan, the US, the UK and EU. The industries covered by James include the ICT, insurance, MSO, media, hotel, land development, manufacturing, logistics and franchise chain. James also successfully assisted several Taiwanese entrepreneurs for their joint venture with global leading manufacturers in the Greater China market. James participated in the most major infrastructure BOT projects in Taiwan such as the high-speed rail, the airport-link MRT, the eastern highway, the highway ETC system, and successfully assisted a project bidder to obtain the first-ever winning and final judgment to revoke the selecting decision.
