Alex Hsin sits as the managing partner of Guo Ju Law Firm and the senior partner of MHP Law Firm. He was the pioneer of the Taiwan attorneys who qualified to admit to practice in mainland China. He is also a qualified patent attorney in Taiwan, and certified senior forensic accountant both in mainland China and the US. He was awarded Top 100 lawyers by Lawyer Monthly, a British professional magazine, in 2011 and was ranked China’s Top 100 lawyers by China Business Law Journal from 2016 to 2018.
Hsin successively obtained his LLB degree from Fu Jen Catholic University, MBA degree from National Taipei University, LLM degree from Northwestern University USA and PhD degree from East China University of Political Science and Law, and attended the doctoral program of BA at National Taipei University. After working in the legal department of PricewaterhouseCoopers (Taiwan) and Lee and Li Attorney-at-law for a few years, he set up Guo Ju Law Firm in 2008.
Hsin, as a practicing lawyer both in Taiwan and mainland China, has devoted years to cross-border investment, M&A, general corporate, commercial dispute resolution and family law. Hsin is familiar with labour regulations and market demands in cross-strait regimes and experienced in IP fields. He also has years of practical experience in tax litigation and precious knowledge of Taiwan tax laws, ordinances, interpretation, taxation practice, and judicial decisions. Hsin serves for multinational IT groups, tobacco and liquor groups, fashion groups, e-commerce and the online game industry, convenient store chains, the automobile industry, government agencies, the financial industry, the media industry and hotel chains. He has accomplished several acquisitions of state-owned estates in mainland China, the establishment of the business offices of state-owned enterprises, NPL liquidations, syndicate loan contracts for Taiwan financial institutions, and assistance for publishing groups and IT companies prosecuting piracy and patent infringement in Taiwan.
Hsin currently acts as the president of Fu Jen Catholic University Alumni Association of Shanghai, director of Taiwan Business Organization Research and Development Association, director of Northwestern University Alumni Association Taipei Branch, and chief supervisor of Taiwan E-commerce Association.
