Introduction
Ramon Esguerra has led Esguerra & Blanco since he co-founded the firm in 2004. He has received numerous accolades for his expertise in litigation, criminal law and IP law. According to clients, Esguerra is outstanding at providing pragmatic solutions and is always customer-focused, without sacrificing integrity and soundness of legal advice and opinions.
Esguerra served as undersecretary of the Department of Justice from 1992 to 1995. He is a professor of criminal law, remedial law and IP in various law schools in the Philippines and has been invited to lecture on these subjects in various bar review centres and Mandatory Continuing Legal Education programmes. He was also a member of committees formed by the Supreme Court to revise various rules of procedure, such as the “2019 Proposed Amendments to the 1997 Rules of Civil Procedure” and “2020 Revised Rules of Procedure for Intellectual Property Cases.” He actively supports the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and other professional associations as officer, adviser and/or director, including the Licensing Executives Society of the Philippines and the Intellectual Property Association of the Philippines. He is likewise a trained arbitrator of the Philippine Dispute Resolution.
