Introduction
For the second consecutive year, Kristjan Vicente Gargantiel joins the coveted list of the Philippines’ Top 100 lawyers. Kris is a graduate of the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Civil Law in Manila. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2004.
In his sixth year as a lawyer, he founded his own law firm, the Gargantiel Law Office. From being a solo practitioner, Kris is now a senior partner at Gargantiel Ilagan & Atanante (GIA Law), a full-service law firm in Quezon City.
With his dedication and compassion for his client’s cause, Kris easily grew his clientele. He is the legal counsel of a leading publishing corporation in the country, a non-government organisation, and organisations from the business process outsourcing, real estate development, and software development industry, assisting them in corporate, labour, and tax matters, and representing them in litigious cases.
Kris is a dedicated and excellent litigator, earning praises and respect from not only his clients but also opposing counsels and serving as lead counsel in numerous high-profile and complex cases.
He is one of the officers of the Quezon City Chapter of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP QC). He is the chairperson of the journal and publications committee of the IBP QC and a contributor to the QC Law Journal, the chapter’s official publication.
While known to be a top-calibre litigator, Kris is also an academician. He is one of the most sought-after criminal law professors and lecturers at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila College of Law, consistently receiving excellent assessments from his students.
He has also taught obligations and contracts, corporation law, public corporations (local government), labour law, political law, persons and family relations, partnership, agency, sales, and negotiable instruments.
He is also an active resource person in various law-oriented webinars on social media and programs on national television. He pays it forward as a volunteer lawyer of the legal aid team of the IBP QC.
