Hitesh Jain, an equity partner at ALMT Legal’s Mumbai office, defected to mid-sized firm Juris Corp along with two salaried partners and 27 other lawyers on 1 April.
Juris Corp, which is headed by H Jayesh, is now looking to take on additional premises at Express Towers in Nariman Point, Mumbai, to accommodate the new team. In the meantime, in an unusual arrangement, the team is still based at ALMT’s office while working for Juris Corp.
Jain is a litigation partner and had been with ALMT since 2006. He told India Business Law Journal that this was “the first leg of our expansion”, where his team and Juris Corp are looking to set up a full-service firm that would attract other lawyers.
