Bob Nelson has joined Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld in San Francisco as a partner in the firm’s energy and global transactions practice. He was previously a partner at Chicago-based law firm Winston & Strawn.
Nelson has almost 30 years’ experience advising clients on energy deals, with a particular focus on renewable energy. He has worked on the development and financing of more than 50 power project transactions worldwide and has represented developers and lenders in connection with approximately 80% of the world’s total installed concentrated solar power electrical generation capacity.
He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Pacific Council-Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry Joint Task Force on trade and investment relations between India and the US, and was recently nominated to serve on the board of directors of the US-India Business Council.
